Imaging Diagonostics
Since November 2018, the fully renovated and refurbished radiology department at Diagnostics and Medical Clinic Center AVIS Medica officially began operations. It is located on the ground floor of the building, where two medical offices were renovated, and new rooms for conventional radiography, mammography, and echomammography were added. A separate room for osteodensitometry has also been designated. The equipment purchased from General Electric has been completely updated.
The new radiological and mammographic equipment complies with radiation safety requirements, is fully digitalized, and allows for the highest level of diagnostics.
The main areas of imaging diagnostics covered in the department’s activities include:

- Cardiovascular imaging diagnostics
- Pediatric imaging diagnostics

- Breast imaging diagnostics
The department is also equipped with a Signa Explorer 1.5T MRI scanner from General Electric, which offers vast software capabilities for examining the nervous, musculoskeletal, and biliary systems. Special attention is given to performing multiparametric MRI of the prostate gland for the most accurate diagnosis of malignant lesions.

A state-of-the-art 128-slice Revolution Evo CT scanner from General Electric is also installed. The scanner has special software capabilities to reduce radiation exposure and high-resolution CT scans of the lungs. This feature enables early lung cancer screening. We continue the tradition with the latest diagnostic software for colon imaging – virtual colonoscopy; dental scanning in implantology; and all types of angiographic examinations. All devices are connected to a PACS system, allowing for image storage and monitoring the treatment’s effectiveness. The specialists in the radiology department have completed the necessary courses and training for good medical practice. Our team uniquely operates based on telemedicine principles and is in constant contact with the specialists from the radiology department at the University Hospital “Sv. Ivan Rilski” Sofia.
Dr. Elena Raykova

Dr. Elena Raykova graduated in medicine from the Medical University of Pleven in 1984. She acquired her specialization in Radiology in 1994. She further specialized in Mammology and breast imaging from 2000-2003 in Amiens, France, and obtained a diploma in radiology from Paris Descartes University in 2013. Her research interests include breast disease imaging. Additional information: She has 16 years of experience in the Radiology Department at the Pleven University Hospital, 7 years in the Oncological Dispensary of Varna, and 6 years in France.
Dr. Emilia Zlateva

Д-р Емилия Златева завършила медицина във ВМИ Плевен през 1998 год. Придобита специалност- Образна диагностика през 2003год.
Научни интереси/приоритети: Образна диагностика на заболявания на млечна жлеза.
Множество курсове и обучения за следдипломно подготовка.
Участие в български и международни конгреси.

Dr. Mariana Pacheva
Imaging Diagonostics
Dr. Mariana Pacheva graduated in medicine from the Medical University of Pleven in 1991. She specialized in Radiology in 2003. Her qualifications include breast imaging in 2010, echographic diagnostics of the breast in 2014, and MRI diagnostic techniques in 2016. Her research interests include gastrointestinal diseases, and she completed a specialized course in computed tomography in 2005. Additional information: She has a Master’s degree in Health Management (2005).
Dr. Tsenka Baltova

She worked in the Radiology Department at Pleven University Hospital from 1993 to 2004, at the Military Hospital in Pleven from 2004 to 2009, and at Mbal "Avis Medica" from 2009 to the present. Education: Medical University of Pleven, 1987-1993. Specialized training at the Aleksandrovska University Hospital Sofia, the Military Medical Academy Sofia, and the Pirogov Institute of Emergency Medicine Sofia. Specialization: Radiology, 2002.
Dr. Ivaylo Vasilev

Dr. Ivaylo Vasilev graduated from the Medical University of Pleven in 1996 and specialized in Radiology in 2002. He has completed courses in imaging diagnostics for the digestive system, respiratory system, head and neck, and angiography. Work experience includes: 1997-2004, Pleven, UMBS "Georgi Stranski" EAD, Radiology Department; 12.2004-31.08.2009, Pleven, Military Hospital, CT scanner; 01.09.2009 – present, Mbal "Avis Medica," Radiology Department.
Dr. Dimitar Vasilev

Dr. Dimitar Vasilev graduated from the Medical University of Pleven. In October 2023, he was enrolled as a regular resident in the Radiology Department of Mbal-Avis Medica. He is a member of the Bulgarian Medical Association and the Bulgarian Society of Radiology and participates in congresses on radiological diagnostics. His main interests are in urological imaging and musculoskeletal imaging.
Dr. Teodor Tsvetkov

Dr. Teodor Tsvetkov graduated in medicine from the Medical University of Pleven in 2023. Since November 2023, he has been enrolled as a regular resident in the Radiology Department at Mbal-Avis Medica. He is a member of the Bulgarian Medical Association (BLS) and the Bulgarian Radiology Association (BAR). His main interests include musculoskeletal imaging and breast imaging.
Dr. Gergana Tsvetanovа

Dr. Gergana Tsvetanova graduated from the Medical University of Pleven in 2022, specializing in medicine. Since December 2022, she has specialized in Radiology at the Radiology Department of Mbal-Avis Medica. She is a member of the Bulgarian Medical Association (BLS), the Bulgarian Radiology Association (BAR), and the European Society of Radiology (ESR). Her research interests are in thoracic imaging. She is fluent in English.
Dr. Martina Mincheva

Dr. Martina Mincheva graduated from the Medical University of Pleven in 2021. Since November 2021, she has been part of the Radiology Department team at Mbal-Avis Medica, and since January 2022, she has been enrolled as a regular resident. She participates in congresses on radiology. Her main interests include imaging diagnostics of the digestive system and neuroradiology. She is a member of the Bulgarian Medical Association and the Bulgarian Society of Radiology.
Dr. Lilia Ivanova

Dr. Lilia Ivanova graduated from the Medical University of Pleven in 2018, specializing in medicine. In May 2019, she joined the Radiology Department at Mbal-Avis Medica, and in September 2019, she became a regular resident. She participates in numerous scientific congresses in the field of radiology. Her main research interests include gastrointestinal and liver imaging diagnostics, as well as thoracic imaging. She is a member of the Bulgarian Medical Association (BLS) and the Bulgarian Radiology Association.
